Appearance docket, 1969-1971.

The Court of Criminal Appeals has exclusive appellate jurisdiction over all misdemeanors, including the violation of town and city ordinances, habeas corpus, and all felonies, including all post conviction writs in criminal cases (Ala. Code, 12-3-9 [1975]). This series documents the actions of the court in all cases it receives. Information in the volumes includes the division and case numbers, names of appellants and appellees, courts of original jurisdiction, name of original trial judge, names of attorneys, nature of the original offense, and the sentence of the original court. Also included are a chronological listing of events in the appeals process (i.e.; notice of appeal, submitted on briefs, affirmed, opinion issued, etc.) and the final disposition of the court. The front of each volume is indexed with an alphabetical listing of each appellant and the page number for the information on the case, or the division number and case number. Beginning with the 1990 session of the court, the appearance docket will be in a permanent data base and not in a hard copy format.
