Field representatives' correspondence, 1939-1940.

This series consists of general correspondence of field representatives, M.C. Hughes, J.L. Sullivan, and C.W. Whitehead. The representatives were also known as labor conciliators. The letters reflect their travels around the state and attempts to negotiate settlements to labor disputes. Many letters are addressed to W.H. Ivey, Chief of the Division of Labor or Joseph E. Killough, Assistant Labor Administrator of the State. Some letters discuss routine office procedures, while others discuss labor negotiations.
