[1] 1775, July 30, Chelsea, Mass. to Mrs. Mary Baldwin (his wife) and a note to his brother in Woburn. Requests household supplies and money; regrets he cannot come home, because the situation is "much more difficult than it was Before the people began to com out of Boston." On reverse are "Some lines on Major Benja. Thompson upon his guning marsh Birds at Chelsea Augt. or Septemb. 1775", a poem. [2] 1789, Feb. 25, Woburn, Mass., to Mr. Joseph Bartlet: "Copy of letter to Joseph Bartlet and others respecting play."

Colonel Loammi Baldwin (January 10, 1744 – October 20, 1807) was a noted American engineer, politician, and a soldier in the American Revolutionary War. Baldwin is known as the Father of American Civil Engineering.
