Letter to Stephen Van Rensselaer regarding the election of a U.S. Senator. Livingston proposes that a deal be struck between party members upstate and party members downstate to choose a senator who will aid both regions or represent one with a senator from the other region being chosen the next year. Written at Livingston Manor.
