Letters, military orders, and a newspaper article, 1838-1924.

Seven items relating to the Mormon War in Missouri. Four of the items are original handwritten and signed letters from Governor Lilburn W. Boggs, B. Marsh, and Green White, which contain military orders to Colonel Joseph Hawkins. The remaining three items are photocopies. One of them is a 1924 Missouri newspaper article about the history of the Mormon War.The remaining two consist of a handwritten and signed letter of introduction for William B. Harris by Governor Boggs and a printed "General Order"issued by Boggs regarding the payment of militia troops. The original manuscript of the "General Order" is located in Special Collections room 4040 HBLL>
