Fratelli Alinari Collection. [ca. 1850-1880]

Comprised of 60 loose albumen prints and 1 carte-de-visite, the collection is a mixture of photographs of art work in museums, and architectural views of Florence, Brescia, Padua, Perugia, Pisa, and Venice. The majority of views were taken around Florence, home of the Fratelli Alinari studio. Structures represented include Santa Maria del Fiore (a.k.a., Il Duomo), Campanile di Giotto, Galleria Uffizi, and Palazzo Vecchio, with interior views of the murals of Santa Croce and Santa Maria Novella, and statues in the Accademia di belle Arti. Other buildings and art collections represented include the Palazzo Municipale (Brescia), the Palazzo della Ragione (Padua), Collegio del Cambio (Perugia), the Battistero (Pisa), and the Piazza dei Signori (Venice).
