Letter to Stephen Van Rensselaer congratulating him on his nomination for Lieutenant Governor of New York State. Gardeneer also requests Van Rensselaer's support for Ambrose Spencer as a candidate for the state senate. Gardeneer extolls Ambrose's virtues as a public official and requests that Van Rensselaer inform him as soon as possible as to his decision. Written at Kinderhook, N.Y.
