This collection consists of two letters. One, written from Sarah B. Deavenport, in 1835 from Tuscumbia, Alabama, to John D.G. Brown of Hanover County, Virginia, recounts much family information. The second, from Sarah Brown in Salisbury, North Carolina, 1864 to Mr. Brown, concerns a servant (slave) left with her father.
