The Western Commissioners were appointed to settle claims arriving from the military conquest of Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois. Harrison notifies Fleming that the meeting of the commissioners on the Ohio has been scheduled for November 1, 1782. Fleming served with Caleb Wallace, Thomas Marshall, and Samuel McDowell as Western Commissioners.
