Thanks Webster for pamphlets of his speeches. One pamphlet also contains a speech by John C. Spencer, characterizing Tyler as "weak and wayward" with regard to negotiations for the Webster-Ashburton Treaty. Tyler denies the charge of waywardness and asks Webster to insert this letter in his copy of the speech and has made a copy to go in his own as lasting evidence of their cooperation and agreement in the matter.
