Poster and printed ephemera collection, 1935-1980.

Posters, invitations, pamphlets, receipts, newspapers, and form letters issued by Agudat Israel and Poʻale Agudat Yiśraʼel announcing rallies, lectures, and other activities of the organization in Palestine. Much of the material is campaign literature urging voters to support Agudat Israel in elections. Posters, pamphlets, and flyers from other organizations critical of Agudat Israel for its participation in the Ṿaʻad ha-ḳehilah of the Ṿaʻad ha-leʼumi (1945), and reminders addressed to the ḥaredi community not to vote in elections and not to support Agudat Israel, are also in this collection.

Agudat Israel held its founding convention in Kattowitz in 1912. It is a Jewish organization which seeks to preserve Orthodoxy by adherence to halakhah as the principle governing Jewish life and society. Poʻale Agudat Yiśraʼel was founded in 1922 as a religious labor movement dedicated to building the Land of Israel according to the Torah.
