The records document Consumers' Research's testing and research dealing with the nature of sound and acoustics. Included are correspondence, magazine and newspaper clippings, photographs, advertisements, purchase forms, news releases and other material. Projects relate to hearing aids, miniature hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, and various noise measurement instruments. Subjects included are acoustical terminology, sound level meters, noise analyzers, stethoscopes, sound control products, hearing aid effectiveness, and the measurement of noise and noise abatement. Other subjects included are sound absorbent chambers, sound reproduction, sound absorbing materials and objects, and decibel notations.
