Insurance policy files, 1938-1982.

The State Insurance Fund was established to provide fire and extended coverage insurance on all structures in which the title is wholly or partially vested in a state agency or institution or in which state funds were used to build or buy the building or its furnishings (Ala. Acts, 593, p. 739 [1923]). The fund issues a policy to each insured entity. Large institutions have more than one policy issued each year. These files contain a copy of the Insurance Schedule, scheduled as series S-9-65, for a given policy, a copy of the invoice for the annual premium, correspondence regarding any changes in coverage, routine correspondence regarding claims, and records of claims paid for a particular fiscal year. Some of the files contain Reinsurance Schedules, scheduled as series SX-9-21, which are no longer used or created. This file is no longer maintained. Records for the years 1953-1975 are not included in this series.
