Letters and receipts, 1896-1897.

The series contains letters of the Probate Judge of Mobile Co., Ala. to the State Auditor concerning taxes and fees collected by the Oyster Inspector and Deputy Inspector. The letters served to notify the Auditor that the judge had forwarded the money to the State Treasurer for deposit in the Oyster Protection Fund. Also included are receipts from Mobile printers for record books, certificates, handbills, and monthly reports issued by the Oyster Inspector. One letter contains information usually listed on the Monthly Report of Licenses Issued and Collected.
