Illuminated manuscript, 1808.

Consists of four metamorphosis drawings with short poems associated with the illustrations. The first depicts Adam, Eve, and a mermaid. The second shows a lion, a bird, and a creature that is half beast and half fowl. The third and fourth leaves tell a story of a man on a quest for gold. Illustrations are done in pen and ink with some yellow coloring in a folk art style. It appears to be Pennsylvania German in origin. The back of the second leaf bears the name John Chapman and is dated 1808.
