Account book, 1809-1830.

Contains accounts of transactions for William Hovey's business affairs between 1809 and 1830. Specifically, entries record sales of furniture, of equipment and supplies for the weaving trade, and of lumber. Typical entries include: "to one Chest," "to Repairing a desk," "to two Throstles," "3 skeins Thread," "Carding & Oiling 16 3/4 fine Merino," "5000 feet Hemlock Board," "22 feet Ash Plank," "1 Bushel Buck Wheate," "Grinding one Ton Plaster." Some accounts indicate a business partnership between Hovey and William Stuart. One page headed "things purchased for mill." Book was used at a later date as a scrapbook, though some clippings have since been removed.
