Letter written at New York, N.Y. to William Livingston, 2nd, "..the account of your situation given to me personally by your agent Mr. Spinning have induced the trustees to make an exertion to discharge the debts with which you are at present incumbered, they will be at present pay off ten shillings on the pound, and the money for that purpose is sent to Elias Boudinot, who is requested to superintend the payments that all the creditors may be satisfied that they have equal justice done them."
