Mary Ingraham Bunting (July 10, 1910 – January 21, 1998) was an influential American college president; Time profiled her as the magazine's November 3, 1961, cover story. She became Radcliffe College's fifth president in 1960 and was responsible for fully integrating women into Harvard University. Dean and college administrator, Elliott received her A.B. from Ohio State University (1931) and Ph.D from Radcliffe (1942). She held many administrative positions at Radcliffe from 1943 until 1976, including director of admissions, and dean and vice-president of the college. She was lecturer in Classics at Harvard University and a member of many professional and community associations.
