Letters, 1959-1980.

Consists of letters written to Buhler from collectors, dealers, and museums with respect to American and English silver studies and collecting. Of particular note are biographical sketches of Hester Bateman, including information on the controversy over whether or not she was a practicing craftswoman; Henry Brown Guest, a Loyalist silversmith of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Nathanael Greene. Also included with one of the letters are two photographs--one of a silver platter and the other of silver cups and mugs with lids.
