Papers, 1797-1831. [microform].

The papers of James Fisk consist entirely of business correspondence and cover the years 1797-1831. There is some correspondence to Fisk as Collector of Customs and many papers are addressed to the firm of Fisk and Stevens. The collection includes correspondents from notable Vermont figures Benjamin Swift and George E. Wales and Albert Gallatin, U.S. Secretary of Treasury. The collection is somewhat scant and contains no personal correspondence leaving much of Fisk's family and personal life undocumented.
