Abraham Van Vechten, son of Teunis and Judijke (Ten Broeck); Van Vechten attended Kings College (now Columbia). He was admitted to New York Bar in 1785, and practiced law at Albany, N.Y. He was a member of the New York State Senate and Assembly, served as New York State Attorney General and attended the state constitutional convention in 1821.
