Walter Fried emigrated to the US from Austria in 1938 at the age of 25. He was drafted into the US Army in 1943 and served with the 243rd Combat Engineer Bn. in Europe. While in the service he interpreted for CIC Det. #208 and for the War Crimes Investigation Team. Mr. Fried presently resides in Seal Beach, California.
