Leatherbound album containing photographs of San Francisco, Calif., following the 1906 earthquake and fire. Primarily views of individual buildings in various locations around the city: City Hall; Hall of Justice; Post Office; Ferry Building; Holy Cross Church; St. Ignatius Church; St. Dominic's Church; Temple Emanu-El; Palace Hotel; St. Francis Hotel; Grand Hotel; St. Dunstan Hotel; Fairmount Hotel; Hale Bros. Department Store; Emporium; Call Building; Hopkin's Art Gallery; Turn Verein Building; Spreckels Mansion; Flood Mansion. Also includes panoramic views of Nob Hill and downtown; views during the fire; ruins and rubble; pedestrians and vehicles; soldiers assisting refugees, enforcing martial law, and parading through the city; camps for refugees and soldiers; refugees engaged in various activities; and views of makeshift shelters and street kitchens. Also includes several views of the city before the earthquake and during the period of reconstruction. Four miscellaneous photographs show the Cliff House at night, Mount Tamalpais, and landscapes (including one by E.A. Cohen).
