Papers, contain scrapbooks, a collection card index, letters, 1857-1917, manuscript drafts, biographical sketches, notes, and envelopes. Included are letters to political figures such as Thomas G. Jones and Joseph F. Johnston, correspondence with the Convict Dept. which includes a discussion of abortion, and discussions of DuBose's historical research and publications, particularly his biography of William Lowndes Yancey. The bulk of the rest of the collection is composed of DuBose's manuscript drafts for "Forty Years of Alabama, 1861-1901," "Chronicles of the Canebrake," "The Military Campaigns of General Joseph Wheeler, CSA," biographical sketches, and other notes.
