William Henry Streeper (1837-1930) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Wilkinson Streeper and Matilda Wells. In 1844 the family moved to Saint Louis, Missouri where William worked, lighting the lamps in the city. They arrived at Salt Lake City, Utah in 1851 and William was employed hauling wood.
