Glass plate negatives of New England gravestones, 1925-1939.

Consists of ten glass plate negatives depicting gravestones that dated between 1689 and 1784; nine were located in Massachusetts and the other in Vermont. The photographs feature sculpture, carving, and other ornamentation found on early New England tombstones. The headstones generally included the name of the individual, date of death, and age at the time of death. The text is centered with ornamentation at the top and around the sides of the stone.
