Real property records, 1921-1951.

Legal files on property purchased from the Rokeby Realty Company by a family syndicate headed by Charles Copeland in 1923. This property was originally part of the abandoned Brandywine Works of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, and portions of it are now part of the property of the Hagley Museum and Library. The first file contains correspondence relating to the purchase, copies of deeds, descriptions of parcels by metes and bounds, and schedules of former workers' houses on the property. The second file contains an appraisal of the real property of the estate of Mrs. Charles Copeland made in 1951. There is also an 1950 survey showing the exchange of property between Lammot du Pont Copeland and Christ Church.
