Lists transactions for the dry-goods business of Brandon & Dolbeare from 1739 to 1748. The firm bought and sold such items as looking glasses, sconce glasses, lace, ribbon, fabrics, girdles, taffata, velvet masks, gloves, tailors' shears, wax, necklaces, buttons, etc. They acted as middlemen between firms and between businesses and individuals. For example, John Stallwood, a London cabinetmaker, exported cases of looking glasses to Brandon & Dolbeare who in turn retailed the glasses to numerous individuals in the Boston area.
