Percy Clinton Sydney Smythe Strangford papers, 1815-1822.

The papers contain two letters to "My dear Stuart" dated 20 Nov. 1815 and 25 April 1822, the first written in Dublin, the second in Constantinople; three diplomatic reports from Constantinople addressed to the Marquis of Londonderry, dated July 10, and Aug. 10 (twice) respectively, numbered #102, #124, #125, the first being an autograph, the latter two copies. The last item is a French copy of an official note presented by Strangford to the Porte, dated 30 March 1822.

Lord Strangford was the British ambassador at Constantinople from August 1820 to October 1824. The recipient of his diplomatic reports, the Marquis of Londonderry (1778-1854), was the British ambassador at Vienna from 1814-1822.
