Ship's log for the Brig Owhyhee : ms, 1827-1831.

Daily entries for three round-trip trading voyages of the ship Owhyhee: from Oahu in the Sandwich Islands to the Northwest coast, Jan. 25-July 24, 1827; from Oahu to Canton and Boston, Oct. 3, 1827-May 18, 1828; and from Boston to the Northwest coast, Aug. 11, 1828-Oct. 21, 1830, with a postscript of the ship's arrival in Boston in Apr. 1831. The log is prefaced by instructions from the captain, John Dominis, but was apparently kept by the First Mate, whose name is not given. The Northwest coast portions of the voyages, whose areas covered parts of the Pacific Northwest, the Columbia River, and Northern California to San Francisco, were for the purpose of fur trading. The log includes a watercolor drawing of the Owhyhee in a typhoon off the Bashee Islands.
