Legal documents filed by attorneys Halleck, Peachy, and Billings in the Third Judicial District at Santa Clara, Calif. on behalf of Maria y Bernal de Berreyesa, concerning alleged trespasses on Berryesa land, a tract granted the Berreyesa family by Governor J.B. Alvarado and named Canada de los Capitol, or Rancho San Vicente. Forbes and Wilkinshaw, who claimed possession of the New Almaden Quicksilver Mine, which was located on the property, were accused of removing timber and limestone from the ranch. Documents include a copy summons and complaint, notice of trial, and defendants' answer.
