Letter, 1845.

This letter, dated 1845 May 30, was written by Jessup to former General and President Andrew Jackson. Jessup has been accused of using intrigue to obtain his position as commander during the Creek Wars and having General Winfield Scott removed. He requests that Jackson state the facts as he remembers them. Jackson presumably died (June 8) before answering the letter.
