These office files for the Communications Division of the Bureau of Tourism and Travel document the substantive actions of the agency's director and assistant directors. These records constitute the official record of the Communications Division's performance, and to a great extent the performance of the Bureau of Tourism and Travel. Activities to attract visitors to Ala. by the Bureau are documented, including advertising campaigns, conventions, travel surveys, programs, Chambers of Commerce activities, news releases, promotional publications, and others. Particular areas and activities highlighted include an Afro-American Veterans reunion, 1979-1980; the Ala. Travel Directory, Gulf Shores, Eufaula and the Chattahoochee Valley, the Ala. Reunion, Mobile, South Ala. and Fort Rucker, the Ala. Shakespeare Festival, the Ala. Space and Rocket Center, the U.S.S. Ala., and the Ala. Travel Council.
