Contains an account book and a few miscellaneous bills from the Wilmington Marble and Granite Works along with Megowen family material. Megowen family material consists of letters with family news sent from Maggie and William Skinner to Sarah Megowen and Lillie Megowen; a fragment of an account book dated 1823 with verses and illustrations added by George W. Megowen in 1853 and 1854; an advertisement for the Norwich Union Fire Insurance Company in Wilmington; and a printed tract entitled "Entire Sanctification. John Wesley's View," by Rev. D.A. Whedon.

The Marble and Granite Works, located at Tenth and Tatnall Sts., Wilmington, De., was founded in 1848 by Charles H. Smith. By 1880, the firm employed 15 people. In 1861, the Delaware Steam Marble and Granite works was started. It had three locations in Wilmington, including one run by L.W.
