Secretary's letters, 1867-1908.

This series consists of letterbooks containing copies of the outgoing letters of the Governor's private secretary, 1867-1870, 1874-1908. Most of the volumes are letterpress copybooks, and after 1887 many letters were typed. The letters are largely routine in nature, concerning topics such as appointments, extraditions and requisitions and the financial affairs of the state. Occasionally a copy of a letter signed by the Governor may also be recorded.
