Records consisting of correspondence, receipts, oaths and orders relating to services performed by various individuals for the State of Ala. Included are items relating to the printing and distribution of state publications, the building of an arsenal, keeping state prisoners and miscellaneous services performed by a county sheriff. Includes a large number of records, 1823, concerning payment to be made to Daniel Rather, keeper of the jail of Madison Co., for housing state prisoners in the county jail for a fee of forty cents per day.
