Autobiography and patriarchal blessings of James Pace : photostat, ca. 1947.

This is a photostatic copy of the original owned by Mrs. Joseph H. Peterson. In his autobiography, James Pace describes his life and service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He details his time in the Mormon Battalion, their journey to California, and his service as captain of the discharged company returning to Winter Quarters, Nebraska. Pace also describes the movement of his family from Illinois to Utah. His account ends in 1861 and the remainder of his life is depicted by his daughter Mary Adelia Pace Tyler in a paragraph following his autobiography. Also included are fifteen patriarchal blessings for James Pace, his wives, and some of his children.
