Correspondence, biographical materials, memoranda, lecture notes, case files, reports, press releases, publications, drafts of publications, research materials, and other papers reflecting the activities of Emanuel Fritz. Includes his teaching materials as a Professor of Forestry at the University of California, Berkeley; work as forestry consultant; work with the Foundation for American Resource Management; development of the wood preservative Chemonite; activities with federal, state, and local forestry agencies, notably the United States Forest Service; activities in professional forestry associations and industry groups, particularly the Forest History Society, the California Redwood Association, the Society of American Foresters, and the Redwood Region Logging Conference; and activities in civic and social groups, particularly the Save the Redwoods League, the Commonwealth Club, and the Bohemian Club. Also included are research projects and writings relating to California forestry, especially California Redwood, and extensive research materials collected about the Redwood National Park controversy and all phases of lumbering and forestry.
