Public information subject files, 1985-[ongoing].

The Public Information Division is responsible for public information, public relations, marketing and media relations on behalf of the Chancellor, the Department of Postsecondary Education, the State Board of Education, and Alabama's system of public two-year colleges. This group of records consists of information collected by the Public Information Division to serve as a reference resource for the agency. The material in these files is used to answer information requests, to develop publications, and to release to the media. Typical records in these files include correspondence answering personnel and constituent requests; copies of publications, copies of State Board of Education meeting agenda and minutes; Public Information Division budgets; prototype files of publications, letterheads, logos, and paper samples; approved travel and leave forms for the division, specialty catalogs; newspaper clippings; and files regarding the history of the college system including copies of legislation, newspaper clippings, and institutional profiles.
