Lorin Farr was born in 1820 in Waterford, Vermont, to Winslow Farr Sr. and Olive Hovey Freeman Farr. He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when 11 and married Nancy Bailey Chase in 1845 in Nauvoo, Illinois. After migrating to Utah, he served as Mayor of Ogden and President of the Weber Stake. He married 5 other women and had 36 children. Farr died in 1909 from a heart attack.
