Statement, 1945-1964.

Typewritten statement dated 13 April 1945. Lloyd writes that he was on a train in Canada with the Mormon apostle, John A. Widtsoe, in 1945. Widtsoe told Lloyd that he was present when John Wickersham Woolley, a temple worker for the Mormon Church, admitted that he had not been given authority to perform polygamous marriages after that practice was discontinued by the Mormon Church. Also included is a typewritten letter from Widtsoe to Ririe dated 19 Nov. 1945 in which Widtsoe states he is "ashamed" of fundamentalist Mormons who still preach polygamy.
