Old houses in Raritan Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey : photograph album, 1936 / Compiled by J.L. Grimstead.

Album containing ca. 175 mounted photographs of historical structures in Raritan (now Edison) Township, Metuchen and South Plainfield, Middlesex County, New Jersey, including the unincorporated Edison Township locations of Bonhamtown, Menlo Park, New Durham, Piscataway, Potters, Pumptown and Stelton. The buildings depicted are primarily dwellings (including a house at the Ferrer Colony), but barns, outbuildings, taverns, inns, restaurants, stores, schools and churches are also each represented by at least one image, as are wells, milestones, cemeteries and old trees. Also among the structures depicted are Thomas Edison's office building, laboratory, machine shop and glass house at Menlo Park. Almost all of the images in the volume are identified by owner and location, with construction date or other information sometimes added.
