Records of the Catastrophic Health Expense Protection Program (CHEPP) which was established by the legislature in 1977 [Minn. Stat. 62E.52]. The program assisted people with very high health care expenses who had no insurance company or other health coverage plan. The program was divided into two parts: CHEPP I, which covered general medical expenses, and CHEPP II, which covered long-term nursing home care. The program lost its legislative funding in 1982. The files contain correspondence, brochures, reports, manuals, publicity, statistics, and subject files.
