Aaron Hervey Kerr papers, 1864-1889.

Civil War field diary and account book (Jan.-July 1865) kept by Kerr as chaplain of the 9th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, describing the regiment's movements and activities, its participation (March-April) in the seige of Spanish Fort, Alabama, and general wartime news and opinions. The volume also includes a record of baptisms (1870-1877) and marriages (1866-1889) that Kerr performed in St. Peter and Rochester, Minnesota. It is accompanied by a typed transcript (photocopy) with notes by Kerr's grandson.
