Story of his experiences as told to me by my father, J. J. Sherman, [undated].

Account of John J. Sherman's Civil War experiences in the 8th New York Heavy Artillery, Company G, especially as a prisoner at Salisbury, N.C. (August 25, 1864-Feb. 22, 1865), his parole, and his return to the north. Accompanied by two sketch maps, a recapitulation of his service record, and a photograph of him marching in a Grand Army of the Republic unit at a Memorial Day parade in Chicago during World War I.
