Correspondence, financial statements, and reports on the work of Newton D. Mereness in preparing a calendar of federal documents pertaining to the upper Mississippi Valley. The conference, which financed and directed the project, was composed of historical agencies in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
