Food law violation court case reports, 1924-1964.

Court case reports are one-page summaries of violations of the Agriculture Department's laws and regulations relating to the sale of agricultural products. Apparently prepared by department inspectors, who filed the complaints in local courts. Most violations are for adulteration of food products (mainly meat and dairy), unsanitary or otherwise improper production and marketing practices, and occasionally infractions of other specific regulations. Each report includes the names of the complainant and defendant, specific violation, lab number, sometimes laboratory test results, pleas, disposition of the case, and amount of fine. No index has been located.
