Scrapbook, [ca. 1850-ca. 1889].

Opens with an architectural drawing showing the front elevation of a bay window in an Italianate villa and an accompanying floor plan. The drawing was done by Richard Upjohn. The house represented was probably the one designed and built by Upjohn for Charles M. Russell in Newport, R.I. in 1850 and 1851. The remainder of the volume contains newspaper clippings about Newport, R.I. from the 1870s and 1880s. Its history, summer social life, and the building of the Naval War College are featured. Several of the articles make reference to Russell and members of his family.
