Henry Watson Kent served as the first professional librarian of the Grolier Club from 1903 to 1906 and originated its classification scheme. He continued to serve the Club during the following decades through its Library, Publications and House committees, and its Council. From 1906 until his retirement in 1940 Kent was Secretary of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. W. A. Dwiggins was a calligrapher, type designer and illustrator. Forthe first two decades of the twentieth century he supplied art work to Boston advertisers. Henry Watson Kent was the first librarian of the Grolier Club (a New York City bibliophile society). For many years Kent served as secretary to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he set the standard for fine institutional printing. He was also an authority on prints.
