Aline MacMahon was born May 3, 1899 in McKeesport, Pa. After studying and performing with the Neighborhood Playhouse Theatre, she made her Broadway debut in THE MIRAGE (1921). She appeared in over 50 plays, among them THE EVE OF SAINT MARK (1942); ROMEO AND JULIET (1959); CORIOLANUS (1965); THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT (1961); and TRELAWNY OF THE 'WELLS' (1975).
